Goaltending Depth Realignment

Woll posted a 15-16-7 record with a 3.34 goals-against average and .899 save percentage across 39 appearances this season. His career totals stand at 2.94 GAA and .906 save percentage in 117 NHL games. Philadelphia receives a 27-year-old netminder with two years remaining at a $3,666,667 cap hit.

Stolarz recorded an .893 save percentage and 3.28 GAA in 26 games while both he and Woll finished more than six goals below expected per moneypuck.com. Hildeby, 24, delivered a .914 save percentage, 2.86 GAA and 10.5 goals saved above expected in 20 call-up appearances, the strongest mark among the group.

Akhtyamov, also 24, posted a 2.21 GAA and .924 save percentage for the Marlies in their Calder Cup final run. Hildeby loses waiver exemption next season, forcing Toronto to reduce its three-goalie logjam before the off-season.

Ersson arrived with a 14-11-5 record, 3.12 GAA and .870 save percentage in 33 games. He owns a career 3.01 GAA and .884 save percentage in 143 NHL contests and remains a pending restricted free agent.

Defensive Additions and Cap Relief

Benoit led the Leafs with 194 hits and ranked third with 114 blocked shots in 73 games. He contributed six assists and posted a minus-22 rating on the final year of a three-year, $1.35-million contract.

Andrae, 24, recorded two goals and 11 assists for 13 points in 61 games along with 68 hits, 58 blocked shots and a plus-15 rating. He exits his entry-level deal as a pending restricted free agent eligible for arbitration.

Philadelphia now holds only four 2026 draft selections after the deal: first, second, sixth and seventh rounds. Toronto increased its total to eight picks, including two third-rounders and the top overall selection.

Vladar posted a 29-14-7 record, 2.42 GAA and .906 save percentage in the regular season before a 2.18 GAA and .922 save percentage in 10 playoff games. The Flyers gain tandem stability with the incoming Woll.

Draft Capital and Future Outlook

The exchange clears Toronto of two contracts expiring after 2026-27 while injecting immediate organizational depth at both positions. Ersson and Andrae each carry arbitration rights that must be addressed before July 1.

Hildeby and Akhtyamov now compete directly for the backup role behind Stolarz without waiver complications. The retained third-round pick provides flexibility to address other roster gaps at the draft.
