Vegas Series Dominance

Vegas opened the series with a 4-2 road win in Game 1 on May 18. The Golden Knights followed with a 3-1 victory in Game 2 on May 20. Colorado responded with a 3-5 home loss in Game 3 on May 22 before falling 1-2 in Game 4.

The 4-0 series result marks the first time Vegas reached the Stanley Cup Final since 2023. Colorado, the defending champions from 2022, managed only seven total goals while Vegas scored in every period of the final three games.

Vegas goaltender Adin Hill posted a .932 save percentage across the series. The Golden Knights power play converted at 28.6 percent, converting four of 14 opportunities.

Eastern Conference Final Status

Carolina leads Montreal 3-1 after wins of 3-2 in overtime in Game 2, 3-2 in overtime in Game 3 and 4-0 in Game 4. Montreal took Game 1 by a 6-2 margin but has been held to two goals or fewer in the last three contests.

Game 5 is scheduled for Friday, May 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET in Carolina. A Montreal win would force Game 6 on May 31 in Montreal and potentially Game 7 on June 2 in Carolina.

The Hurricanes have won three consecutive games by a combined margin of 10-4 since the overtime loss in Game 1. Montreal’s offense has produced only four goals in its last three losses.

Rest and Scheduling Implications

Vegas last played on May 26 and will have between six and nine days of rest before the Stanley Cup Final opens on or after June 4. The Eastern champion will play Game 7 on June 2 at the earliest, leaving at most two days between that contest and the first Final game.

This rest differential mirrors the 2023 Final where Vegas defeated Florida after a similar scheduling break. The Golden Knights averaged 2.75 goals per game in the conference final while allowing 1.75.

Carolina and Montreal will each have played at least 20 postseason games by the time the Final begins if the series reaches seven games.
